Carlos Henrique Casimiro
Carlao Carlos Henrique Casimiro, commonly known as Casemiro (born 23 February 1992 in São José dos Campos, Brazil), is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder. Celebrated for his strength, tactical intelligence, ball-winning ability, and leadership, Casemiro is considered one of the best holding midfielders of his generation.
Casemiro began his career at São Paulo, where his performances in midfield earned him a move to Real Madrid in 2013. After a loan spell at FC Porto, he returned to Madrid and became a cornerstone of the club’s success. At Real Madrid, he formed part of the legendary midfield trio alongside Luka Modrić and Toni Kroos, winning five UEFA Champions League titles (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022), three La Liga championships, and multiple domestic and international trophies. Known as the “balance” of the team, he was vital in shielding the defense and allowing his teammates to excel.
In 2022, Casemiro joined Manchester United, where he quickly became a leader on and off the pitch. He helped the club win the EFL Cup in 2023, ending United’s six-year trophy drought, and brought much-needed stability to their midfield.
Internationally, Casemiro has been a consistent presence for Brazil since his debut in 2011. He has earned over 70 caps, winning the Copa América in 2019 and playing in multiple FIFA World Cups, where his defensive solidity and leadership have been vital for the Seleção.
