Well well. It seems as mouthy Steve Evans got to him again yesterday at Camb Utd v Mansfield. Fell for all the verbal intimidation from Evans & Co, plus all the time wasting theatricals & falling overs from Mansfield. Like Trevor Kettle, another useless inept twit to grace a football pitch. Referee ?? Totally NOT...he s an Imposter !!

I have been watching professional soccer since 1956 and this Referee is the worst I have ever had the misfortune to witness.
If assessors deem him fit to referee at Championship standard they should hang their heads in shame !

Worst referee Ive ever seen. Too frightened to give any decisions on the box. Equally bad for both sides. Either grow a pair or pack it in.

Please Mr Ward would you tell us your thoughts regarding sending off a goalkeeper when the ball was a full arms length from his hand?

He is at it again sending off Pickford when it wasn t even a foul - booked six and frightened by Evans and the Leeds support.

The worst referee I have ever seen. His performance tonight was shocking. He was inconsistent with what he deemed to be a bookable offence, and those he did were in favour of the away side. Bottled a definite red on Fabio and continually missed fouls, especially those in the air, again largely to the benefit of the away side. Definitely requires a performance review before being allowed to continue his career.

Got EVERY decision wrong, absolute joke of a ref, hitler like in his arm waving - sent the keeper off for denying a goalscoring opp even though the ball had been knocked out of play, no communication with his assistants....nether knew what was goiung on. 1st goal was offside following the penalty, the penalty taker was laying on the ground in front of the keeper but never given offside. The winning goal was also offside on 2 occasions but missed both.

The worst ref iv seen at Valley Parade. He got everything wrong.
Also a linesman who should go to spec savers. The football league should sit down and watch this game all the way through. Its these sort of refs who can cost a team a lot of money. Why cant they be held accountable. One of these days a fan who pays good money to watch a game and not the ref will if possible take a ref to court for not giving value for money.I totally agree with the comments below about this guy.
Three reds in three games same ref.He was not consistent.Gave the opponents verbal warnings but yellows and a red to ours. The sending off was never a sending off offence. In slow mo the player went down a good yard after the so called offence. And he had his arms outstretched ready to dive.Olympics comes to mind.Hope the city fan who has wrote to the football league gets a result.

Got most of the big decisions wrong. Which had a big influence on the game. Has little understanding of the game from what I could see. I put it down to inexperience at the time. However it seems Mr Ward has plenty of experience. From what I read on here, seems like he has plenty of bad experiences, you have to wonder why he is still being allowed to ref at this level. Are the league so short of refs?it s easy to have a go at the ref, especially when the outcome of the game goes against you. However his performance at this game was poor by any standards.real mad

Most awful referee I ve seen at Priestfield in recent times, turned down two penalty appeals; one of them obvious, one of them not so
Anytime a larger player was with 5 metres of a smaller player he seemed to blow up and disrupt the game, didn t seem aware he could allow people to play on either
Missed what should of been our throw in, with the linesman waving his flag for a full two minutes until he realised and in the confusion allowed Donaldson to get away with a questionable lunge on our keeper

Much too officious, like a school teacher laying down the law to little boys, only half those playing were probably much nearer the refs age. Little, if any teamwork with his assistants.
Take for example the penalty - the ref was 20 -30 yards behind the play, the forward going from left to right across the area, having carried the ball 3/4 of the length of the pitch (and directly in line with the linesman on the left hand touchline) yet at no time did the ref consult with his assistant who had a much better view of the situation.
He officiated to the letter of the law with no heed to its spirit. Not every foul is a booking yet this official seems to think otherwise and yet when a smaller man brings down a bigger one this ref often lets play continue as if its a case of well your big enough to look after yourself - never mind what technical point has been abused. This is the kind of official who could readily spark crowd trouble by his decisions and his lack of communication with the crowd.

I must agree with the person above. I was at the game and I was actually appalled at the decisions you were making. Obviously, in football, you never expect all the decisions to go your way and all one can really ever want in a game is a fair referee that delivers on justice. However, you kept targeting Shaun Batt despite him being pulled over numerous times and the penalty decision you gave was absolutely disgusting. I have also been through your record and it clearly shows that you are a card happy referee. You should never book a player for protesting a decision they felt was unjust. If they are extremely angered over it, has it never crossed your mind that they might actually be telling the truth and that their anger is a voice of the injustice? I m actually really annoyed by you tonight. I have never looked up a referee and left a message on their blog but I guess the injustice is felt right across the Den.
