Re the previous comment . I agree with most of it but the Cardiff keeper did career head first into the hoardings and may have had a head injury.A little more than stepping off the pitch. One major flaw in his performance was the inability to position himself correctly and keep up with play.He seemed oblivious to time wasting and seemed to revel in the home crowd s expression of disapproval of his well below par performance.

    Charlton - Cardiff
This ref was appalling today Charlton v Cardiff 26-12-2014.

Jill from Sidcup - I admit the red card for Herriot was deserved - a typical clumsy striker s challenge, but Mr Russell missed fouls by Cardiff players whilst awarding free kicks ad infinitum against Charlton for much less - his inconsistency was unbelievable. He gave a yellow card for a professional foul, last man and preventing a goal scoring opportunity which undoubtedly should have been a red and Cardiff were quick to exploit such weakness to the point of cheating - shame on them. He stopped charlton from taking a quick throw in as the Cardiff goalkeeper had stepped off the pitch but the keeper was not injured, was off the pitch of his own volition and Mr Russell needs to learn the rules. Likewise he pulled up every Charlton throw in but allowed the Cardiff players to gain as much as 20 yards. Mr Russell watch this match again - you will hang your head in mortification at your ineptitude. Go back to ref school, do not pass go ...

    Peterboro - Birminghm
Peterborough v Birmingham. failed to give an obvious penalty, and bottled a second yellow card when even the offending player was expecting to be sent off. said it was an accident !

see he found his true level refereeing 2 teams not even in the conference -- hope he didn t find it too HARROWing a BATTLE trying to differentiate between two teams both starting with the letter H . It s now 5 games since he gave a penalty. Rumour has it his due to withdrawal symptoms his wife gave him a pen for christmas because he s got no lead in his pencil in the bedroom.

    Doncaster - Portsmth
he has referred at Doncaster s home games twice now and given the away side 4 penalties (2 in each game) interestingly his first match of the 2011-2012 season was not until January. Obviously the Conference beckons him hitchin a ride back to Hertfordshire !!

After today s performance at Doncaster v Portsmouth its hard to imagine that he s even seen the rule book let alone read it. The single most shocking/bias/inept (you choose) refereeing of a match I have ever seen!real mad

    Doncaster - Portsmth
After todays performance at Doncaster Rovers and all the decisions made by both Mike Russell and his officials, I wonder how they ever qualified to officiate at any match. I know we were soon to be relegated anyway but, Dave Kitsons actions and those of the officials were very unprofessional and I believe this is why we need video action replays to ensure future controversy does not happen.

Mick Russell - What a rubbish ref today at the Doncaster Rovers vs Portsmouth match!

He awarded a penalty for an obvious dive by Dave Kitson and wrongly sent off Habib Beye (who never touched him), then he awarded a penalty for an accidental handball by James O Connor...

Portsmouth just won by cheating - they really have no honour and I do hope they do go bust. Mick really was a poor ref today!

    Cheltnham - Accringtn
Performance in Cheltenham v Accrington game (Jan 2011) was one of the worst I have seen in years. Seemed to fall for any dive, seemed to position himself very badly, away from the action, meaning that he couldn t see certain incidents. He gave very few decisions to the home team - and when he did, the decisions were often incorrect. 4 mins injury time despite 6 2nd half subs and much time-wasting.

    Norwich C - Sheff.Wed
As an independant I thought Mick Russell performance for the match Norwich v Sheffield Wednesday was very poor.

He was always behind the play in fact when there was a scuffle in the penalty box Mr Russell was seen sprinting the other way across the half way line.

Fouls were missed from both sides and Russell seemed more intent on having the focus on himself than doing his job. He spent a lot of time trying to be friendly with the players.

In my opinion he ruled out a perfect goal for Norwich in a drab game that should have resulted in a draw. Mr Gunn must be extreemly angry!
