Much too officious, like a school teacher laying down the law to little boys, only half those playing were probably much nearer the refs age. Little, if any teamwork with his assistants.
Take for example the penalty - the ref was 20 -30 yards behind the play, the forward going from left to right across the area, having carried the ball 3/4 of the length of the pitch (and directly in line with the linesman on the left hand touchline) yet at no time did the ref consult with his assistant who had a much better view of the situation.
He officiated to the letter of the law with no heed to its spirit. Not every foul is a booking yet this official seems to think otherwise and yet when a smaller man brings down a bigger one this ref often lets play continue as if its a case of well your big enough to look after yourself - never mind what technical point has been abused. This is the kind of official who could readily spark crowd trouble by his decisions and his lack of communication with the crowd.
